We are looking for a driven and experienced Embedded Software Architect to setup together with lead architects the Design Elements and Building Blocks of an IoT Design Kit Environment, containing of Software Artefacts, Concepts, Blueprints and HW Reference Designs. You will focus on high performance IoT Devices from smart sensors up to multicore embedded Linux systems as onboard computing units for rolling stock. The kit will enable all subsystem suppliers within Knorr-Bremse to select the best fitting elements to design the subsystems as digital ready. You will be part of a new team that will focus on the development of new Digital Products and Services which will have a huge impact on the future of rail freight in Europe. MAIN TASKS
Define scalable architecture elements with capsulated software artifacts, elements on cloud and edge side
Working out concepts and definitions in strong cooperation and alignment with the lead architects.
Coordinate the implementation, handle technical problems, make technical decisions
Be responsible for the generic approach of kit elements for scalability and flexibility
Have ownership for selected kit elements over the whole life cycle, including documentation
Work together with teams in Europe and India
Travel occasionally
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Strong experience in embedded systems and software architecture
Experience in IoT technologies and embedded container solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication
Proficient English language skills
